This is a tough one, even though it isn\’t unexpected. I had the wonderful pleasure to meet Nichelle twice as a kid. She was absolutely a fantastic human being.
As we remember her today, let us not forget that in addition to being a talented actress and singer, she broke color barriers on TV, and at NASA. If you haven\’t yet seen it, WOMAN IN MOTION is an excellent documentary about her significant role in making America a better place.

Today I remember her by rewatching her performance as Norma Bartlett in the episode \”To Set it Right\” on Gene Roddenberry\’s series THE LIEUTENANT. Goodbye, Nichelle.
